Covid-19 Updates

Dear Southpaw Members,

Please read this if you are a member with Southpaw Boxing Gym it’s extremely important.

This is also going to be a bit of a story to inform everyone, A) what is happening and B) what has happened, so please read the entire email.

Covid has really taken its toll on our industry and on all of us in general. I am sure many of you have had similar struggles and i am sure that you understand that with all this chaos, things will change and be different than before.

We have had to make some changes in the Southpaw business as well. Firstly, things caused the current owners some crazy difficult months and the business was about to close permanently, HOWEVER 3 of our amazing members have decided to save the struggling business and thus we have new owners. These new owners have needed to make 2 changes as a new business entity.

Going forward Southpaw Boxing Gym will be known as Southpaw Family Fitness & Boxing Gym….and every member will be honored as a member of this new entity.

Secondly….THIS IS HUGE….We have a new home.. the address is 3130 Glenmore Court SE. (Same Business area as the Glenmore Inn) The new space is literally 3 minutes from the old location and it is much easier to get access to the club, from both the west ( Just take the 24th street turn off heading north) and the east end of the city. The best part is the space is bigger and we have some new equipment and program offerings.

Our Staff has also decided they will be returning as soon as we reopen, and you will have the opportunity to follow the coaches and trainers you love and have learnt from for so long.

Here is the best part…….We will be re-opening on JUNE 10th and the only restrictions we have is that classes must space themselves to attempt to be 3 meters apart until the final exemptions are removed and then it will be business as usual.

It is so exciting to be able to help you all again and if you have any questions, please reach out the same phone numbers and emails you have used in the past.

Please also note that the website will be updated and the directions to the club will be available.

We look forward to seeing you June 10th.

We are extremely excited to welcome you back to our gym on Monday Feb 8th, 2021. Based on the new regulations we are only allowed to offer 1:1’s until we hit the next phases in the structured reopening plan outlined by the Alberta Government and AHS.

Great News: 1:1 session’s will run from Monday through Saturday with available slots open every hour on the hour (5am to 8pm) and all our members are welcome to book in!

We will continue this option for the duration of Phase 1, and until we can resume at a normal structure. Please pre-book your session on the portal under: Southpaw circuit, 12×12 or open gym. All sessions must be pre-booked. Note ( Boxers should book Open Gym Time)

We ask that you please stay home if you are not feeling well or been in contact with someone in quarantine. When entering the gym, you will need to answer the COVID questionnaire, and have your temperature taken. Please maintain a safe distance from the other members and personal trainers while in the gym. Remember to always clean every item you have touched or come in contact with as you move along in your session. Cleaning solution and paper towel are strategically placed around the gym to ensure this is maintained and available.

Southpaw also will continue with our strict cleaning regiment to ensuring that all our members feel safe and comfortable upon their return to our gym. We look forward to seeing you all!

Welcome back,

Southpaw Management

Hi Santa,

All we want for Christmas is to keep our gym and small business alive! ⁣

If you love Southpaw Boxing Gym like we do, then please read this plea for your support as a current member. ⁣

Today they have again restricted us as a business with a lockdown until ??????? ???, ????. We need to be very honest in the seriousness of this limitation, and its effect on our ability to continue as a local business. ⁣

This really could be it for our little company, unless we can rally our members to support us through this month and continue to pay fees through the new year. ⁣

We do realize many of you have just received news that your jobs and lifestyles are also affected. We want you to know that we are more than willing to suspend your membership for the one month of January if needed. If you do need this support from us, please send an email to: ????@??????????????.??

We know we have a crazy, awesome, amazing, wonderful group who supports us, and we love and adore you all. We need your support more than ever, and appreciate you all. Let’s get through the next 4-6 weeks, flatten this curve, and kill this virus together like we do everything else….as a family.⁣

We love you and we will see you soon.⁣

Thanks so much

Dear Southpaw Members,

Due to imminent changes in the province’s COVID-19 restrictions; we are temporarily removing the ability to book group classes for the next two weeks, November 13-27. However, all members can still book Open Gym Time Sessions, which will be available every hour, on the hour. All members have full access to utilize the gym on their own.

Our trainers will remain on site, and are always available to answer your questions and assist you as needed. All spaces will be available in the gym for members to use, including weights and heavy bags.

We ask that our members please stay vigilant regarding the ongoing cleanliness of their exercise stations, to ensure that all can utilize the space safely. Also, please continue to get scanned upon entering the gym, and always maintain social distancing standards.

We as a company promise to continue to keep our sanitization policies steadfast and strict. Cleaning protocols will remain our top priority, as we are first and foremost committed to the safety of our staff and members, 24/7.

We look forward to seeing you all back at your regular classes in two weeks, we will get through this together!
